Welcome to our Suwannee County

Democratic Party

Our Vision and Platform (click here)

"We, the Democrats of Florida, united in common purpose, hereby dedicate ourselves to the principles which have historically sustained our Party. We recognize that a political party which wishes to lead must listen to those it would lead, that a party which asks for the people's trust must prove that it trusts the people, and that a party which hopes to call forth the best the state and nation can achieve must embody the best of the state's and nation's heritage and traditions.

The Florida Democratic Party, at all levels, shall encourage voter registration without discrimination on grounds of race, color, creed, sex, age, national origin or physical disability.

What we seek for our state and nation we hope for all people: individual freedom in the framework of a just society; political freedom in the framework of meaningful participation by all citizens."

(Preamble of the charter of the Florida Democratic Party as amended on July 15, 1998.)

On Thursday, August 5, 2010, we are holding our monthly meeting at the Spirit of the Suwannee.  We are having a judicial debate, the four judges running in our district will tell you why you should vote for them.  Our meeting had to be moved because another venue reserved the space in advance.  We will be meeting at the Grande Hall located approximately 1 mile past the SOS Cafe.  I will send maps with the meeting reminder e-mail.  After our meeting Senatorial Candidate Kendrick Meek will be at the Grande Hall so it should be a great evening.  The Small County Coalition is holding their weekend on the 13, 14 and 15th of August at Fernandina Beach in Nassau County.

The SCCC will also be going back to the same hotel we used in 2008 - they are giving us a great deal on both the rooms ($69.99 per night) and the use of their conference center is free if we meet our room guarantee!

Please Call the hotel for reservations: (904) 277-2300 | code: FLADEM

____________________________________________________________________________

The cost is $50.00 per person (just to cover food and equipment charges)

We will be holding the conference the same weekend as the Nassau County Low Country Boil - and we'd like to invite everyone to attend that event on Saturday evening ($40.00 per person).
